Timedrops Villas is the first of its kind to be founded at the settlement of Emporio. We are extremely proud to be the first to bring this authentic corner of Santorini into the spotlight.

Τimedrops Villas is a complex of traditional luxurious houses, located in the archaeological site of Kastelli in Emporio. A great effort has been put in preserving the architectural lines of our stone-built houses dating from the late 19th century, with emphasis given to detail and with respect to the traditional, unique techniques of the local craftsmen.

Timedrops Villas, occupying the entire eastern side of the Kasteli Hill, promises ideal views of the village and the sea. Our villa’s policy is to respect the unique culture, tradition and environment of the island, as well as to offer our guests the best accommodation possible, encompassing the unique feel of the island partnered with all modern amenities and comforts. We wish to offer our guests these drops of perfect relaxation, assuring their accommodation will be infused by an intense aroma of each era of Santorini’s past and present.

TIMEDROPS

Choosing the right accommodation in Santorini is a difficult task for any traveler. The great number of hotels and villas on the island makes the effort to find the perfect one that much more daunting; one look, however, at the excellent reviews for our villas will be enough to convince you that our excellent reputation is justified and that we offer a superb service equal to a luxurious hotel experience. We do our best to be the perfect place to relax, to make you feel like home, to be your family friends at Santorini. We believe that this is exactly what makes Timedrops Villas so special.

Timedrops is located in an area away from the masses of tourists that visit the island, making it suitable for a proper relaxation! The archaeological site of the Kastelli of Emporio, where our villas are located, with its traditional architecture, its stone-build houses and its narrow streets will make you feel as if you’re travelling back in time.

The area surrounding Timedrops could have been stuck in time; the locals still produce their traditional products and one can still hear them transferring them on their donkeys to sell at the village’s markets, or the roosters’ wake up calls in the mornings.

As with all the most beautiful parts of the island, it is advisable to rent a car or a motorcycle, for your convenience. Another way to travel around the island is public transport, with buses departing regularly from the central plaza of Emporio (that is located only a short few minutes walk away from our villas) for the whole island.

We are very proud to be located at the heart of the southern side of Santorini, where the most interesting sights and beautiful beaches are situated. The village of Emporio combines the traditional with the modern, offering supermarkets, a bakery, coffee shops, and restaurants only a short walking distance from our villas, as well as a fully functional Medical Centre on 24 hour stand by.

SIGHTSEEING

Timedrops is located at the Kasteli, which is the archaeological site of the village of Emporio. We would suggest you to visit the Venetian tower of Goulas and the labyrinthous narrow streets of the Kasteli. There is a plethora of activities to engage in and many interesting places to visit within a short distance from Timedrops:

The windmills of Emporio are in themselves a splendid spot to enjoy a lovely sunrise or sunset.
The famous prehistoric settlement of Acrotiri (often called the Aegean Pompeii) and the picturesque castle of the village where you can visit the museum of ancient Greek and folk music.
The internationally known Red Beach, the famous beach of Vlychada with its moon-like terrain, the unique black beaches of Perissa, Perivolos and Aghios Georgios.
The museum of tomato in Vlychada and the artistic events during high season.
The ancient Greek tombs of Aghios Georgios.
The castle of Pyrgos and further up the monastery of Prophet Ilias, the highest spot of the island, offering a marvellous panoramic view.
The winery of Gavalas, which is the oldest of the island, and the catacombs in Megalochori. Also the winery of Boutari and further up the Santo Wines winery, famous, for its breath-taking view of the volcano, for cosy evenings full of live music during high season.
The Lighthouse or “Faros” next to Akrotiri village, where you can enjoy the perfect sunset away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds.

EMPORIO VILLAGE

The Village

The Village

Kastelli is the fortified archaeological site of Emporio village. It was built on the inland of Santorini during the Venetian occupation. The purpose of the castle was to protect the island’s inhabitants from pirates like the frightful Hayreddin Barbarossa who raided Santorini at 1537. Kastelli is a compact settlement with narrow streets, paths covered with arches, blind alleys and basements, small terraces and courtyards with flowers.

In Kastelli time seems as if it has stopped. Anyone who walks through the village feels that they live in another era. During the day one can’t but admire the unique architecture of the settlement. During the nighttime it feels like a pirate will make his appearance.

Jean Paul Sartre accompanied by Simon de Beauvoir visited Kastelli during his 1937 vacation. The famous writer, inspired from the settlement, wrote his first theatrical project «Les Mouches».

Nowadays Emporio village has spread outside the Kastelli towards the sea and offers all the necessary modern conveniences such as supermarkets, shops, a pharmacy, taverns etc. Kastelli, however, has remained untouched by commercial activities, being the best preserved and most inhabited castle on the island, and offers only two picturesque traditional cafes.

THE VILLAS

Cycladic

This villa was named in honour of the Cycladic civilisation and tradition. It’s a stone built villa of 93 m² that consists of two independent levels connected through an external staircase. The first level includes a double bedroom and a room with two single beds, each with their own private bathroom, and a wonderful kitchenette.

The second level consists of a double bedroom with a private bathroom and a kitchenette. The Cycladic villa’s terraces, one in each level, are ideal for sunbathing and romantic candle-lit nights, and possesses a lovely view of the village and the sea. The villa has an LCD TV in each level, and free wifi access. The small outdoor pool, situated on the ground floor of the villa, is equipped with a jacuzzi and is ideal for quiet, relaxing moments.

The villa can accommodate up to six guests.

Volcano

The Volcano villa’s name was inspired by the era of the volcanic eruption in 1660B.C. It is a 63m² one storey stone-built villa, consisting of a cave bedroom with a double bed and a bedroom with two single beds. Each room has its own private bathroom. It also includes a living room/ dining area. The Volcano villa has a traditional kitchenette and a yard with a charming outdoor pool with jacuzzi for nice relaxing moments. It is equipped with an LCD TV, and free wi-fi access. The villa’s spacious roof garden is ideal for sunbathing having the most wonderful panoramic view of the village and the sea.

This little piece of heaven requires climbing up some stairs of a picturesque passageway.

The villa can accommodate up to four guests.

Venetian

The Venetian villa is our first and most luxurious one: it’s a two storey stone-built villa of 108m². Its name was inspired by the Venetian period that marked the picturesque village of Emporio and Santorini. On the ground floor of the villa there is a spacious kitchen, a cave room with a day bed perfect for relaxation, a bedroom with a double bed, equipped with an LCD TV, with its own bathroom, and a large dining room that seats eight people with impressive decoration.

On the first floor there is a separate bedroom with a double bed equipped with a mini bar, its own charming bathroom, and a private balcony with a panoramic view of the village and the sea. On the same floor there is a second separate apartment with a bedroom with two single beds and a sofa bed, a mini bar, an LCD TV, and its private bathroom. This apartment also has a large balcony, ideal for sunbathing, with an equally marvellous view to the village and the sea.

On the ground floor there is a large outdoor pool with a jacuzzi and a spacious sitting area, with a bougainvillea, perfect for sunbathing and romantic nights, located in the villa’s private yard. The villa provides free wi-fi access to all rooms.

The Venetian villa can accommodate up to seven guests.

Byzantine

The villa has taken its name from the Byzantine period of the island during which, under the influence of Constantinople, the Christian faith was adopted and a bishop, who organized the Christian Church on the island, was appointed.

It’s a stone-built villa of 43,20 m²: it has a unified living room-sleeping area with a canopy bed, a private large bathroom and a separate small kitchen. The cosy loft has a single bed and can be accessed through an indoors staircase. The ground floor is fashioned to accommodate people with disabilities.

The Byzantine house also provides an LCD TV, DVD player, audio player, and free wifi access. The villa has the privilege to accommodate all type of guests by offering extra facilities so as to welcome people with disabilities who wish to visit our beautiful island for their holidays.

The Byzantine villa can accommodate up to three guests.

Thira

Our sixth villa is called Thira, alluding to the modern Santorini.

It is a stone-built villa, dated from the 1900, located at the higher most end of Timedrops, in the very heart of the Kasteli. The villa consists of two rooms: a separate bedroom with a double bed, and a bedroom with a double bed, a fully equipped traditional kitchen, two smart TVs, and free Wi-Fi access.

Our guests can relax and ward off the summer heat at the villa’s Jacuzzi, located on its private terrace. A small outdoor staircase leads to the private terrace which is ideal for sunbathing and offers a spectacular view of the village’s monuments and the Aegean Sea.

Due to the existence of stairs, the villa cannot accommodate people with disabilities. We would like to apologise for that.

Kallisti

We would like to welcome you to our new stone built villa, where every day is a new delight. Built in the early 1900s, it has been completely renovated by us, according to the traditional architecture of Santorini, with an added modern touch. We have named our new villa “Kallisti”. The villa itself spans two floors and a traditional subterranean cave-room; it consists of three fully independent suites, all with private terraces, Jacuzzi, and an enchanting view to the castle. Our first rate amenities will exceed your expectations. The villa, in its entirety, is an ideal choice for families and friends, as it combines privacy with luxury.

Reservation Policy / Cancellation Policy:

Reservation Policy: A credit card authorization is required in order to confirm a reservation and 20% of the entire amount of stay.
Cancellation: No fees are charged for cancellations prior to 14 days before confirmed arrival date on all seasons. Any cancellation made within 14 days during all seasons, before the arrival date, results in a charge of 50% of the total amount of the stay. In case of no-show or departure prior to scheduled date, you are being charged 100% of the total amount of the stay.
